The Kerry Blue Terrier originates from Ireland and was bred originally for hunting badger, fox, rats and mice. It's origins can be dated back to the 1700's. The Kerry Blue Terrier is also known by the other name of the Irish Blue Terrier. Their name comes from the county of Kerry in south-western Ireland and their nickname of County Kerry Beauty is owed to its distinctive colouring.
